Reservation are not required. Never had a problem walking in
A bit pricey for what you get and not a ton of vegetarian options.
Some of the best sushi I've had in San Francisco. Really quiet and sweet place. Can't wait to go back!
Nice small sushi place. Good sushi and miso soup. Not too busy.
Excellent food and service, the price it’s super reasonable too! We will come back.
I was treated with the utmost level of respect here. It was clean, quiet, not busy, and the food was great. I'm not sure what else you can ask for from a sushi place.
This place has closed. No signs posted. No explanation.
Wonderful, fresh fish, and a cozy setting make this a perfect place to grab a roll or two on a foggy SF evening. Service was a bit on the slow side, but it is a family run operation and the quality more than makes up for it!
Best sushi I have eaten so far. The fish was very fresh and tender. I recommend to go if you visit San Francisco.
Excellent sushi indeed. But noodles are off the table now, their newest menu doesn't include them anymore
Superb quality sushi and nice, local place. A must visit
Amazing food, fresh tuna, salmon, very nice tempura; all served by a very kind lady. Just great!
Cosy and excellent sushi.
Amazing food, super nice staff, and affordable. The place is also small and cozy.
Reminds me of sushi spots in Japan. Best nigiri in the city.
Great sushi. Comfortable atmosphere with a cozy and friendly seating area. Very satisfactory quality sushi and fairly priced. I had a rainbow roll, and eel and red snapper nigiri.
They been in business for 18years, and there's a reason why, the food is exceptional...
Very cosy and sympatic staff. Very good taste of fishes and seafoods, lot of choices and they have speciallities too. You should try, trust me
I know, I know, everyone has their own "best sushi" spot in the city. But THIS is truly the best sushi spot in the city. Great spot for locals and tourist. Hint: don't forget to order items off the white board, especially the Red Devil roll. ðŸ£
A small intimate spot, tiny sushi bar and a handful of tables. Staff always seems to be family/owner type. Sometimes service is slow but as long as you have drinks already who cares. A wonderful place to go and talk, drink and eat sushi. On the less expensive side of SF sushi pricing.
A gem of a restaurant. It is run by a lovely couple and serves amazing sushi. Hands down my favorite place in the city for good sushi.
Amazing food, cozy ambiance, friendly staff
Food excellent. Service leaves something to be desired. Edamame well salted. Shrimp tempura roll was warm from the fryer. Delicious ratio of ingredients. Sashimi was fresh tasting. Soft shell crab was delightful.
Delightfull! In the best sushi I've ever had ! Nice and cozy excelent service. Waitress nice and very friendly
Amazing sushi with a very friendly staff. Place is very inviting and warm with an easy location.
So good! Don't miss this place. Especially since they are open on Mondays; many other sushi places are closed.
Atami is lovely local spot with delicious options and great for take out. Burrito roll and tempura are my faves!
This has excellent fresh sushi. But what truly sets it apart is how kind the staff is. A real locals spot.
Very clean, intimate dining. Sushi was outstanding, service excellent!
Absolutely incredible meal. The portions were a little small and it wasn’t a cheap dinner but it was also some of the best sushi I’ve ever had - and we lived in Vancouver. The server was also an absolute sweetheart. What a gem of a place - DEFINITELY worth it!
My favorite restaurant on the planet. I have eaten here with friends and family at least 50 times and always had an excellent experience. This is a small family owned restaurant with amazing and authentic Japanese sushi. Yes, the portions are on the smaller site but the quality of the ingredients and the love of the owners for their customers more than makes up for this. On some nights the service can be slow but just bring time and you won't be disappointed. This restaurant is all about taste and flavor, unlike so many Bay Area restaurants that sell mediocre food in a hipster ambiance for the same price.
Great sushi and Maki, also other choises. Prices are normal and staff is super nice
This place is absolutely perfect. The food is great, you can tell its freshly made at the moment and with a homey style. Very friendly and professional staff. We loved it ðŸ˜
Great local place that’s quiet and with excellent service. Best sushi I’ve had in the US. Fish is of excellent quality. Only thing I’d ding them on is that the spider roll I had was only average, but nigri was all excellent. Also note that at least when I went there they didn’t open the door until 5:05 and didn’t serve food until 530, but I had no where to go so it worked for me. If you’re in a rush I’d order for take out instead
Fantastic as always
Descent sushi. Extremely slow service. Nice homey atmosphere.
Fresh sushi (delicious!!!)and Friendly staff, price is allright. İts surely worth it!! 😉
This place is amazing! The sushi is so fresh and amazingly unique. The couple who runs this place is great! We stayed a little past closing time, but they still let us order another round and were very happy to take our orders! It was great. Highly recommend!
Love this place! Awesome, delicious sushi for great price. Quiet and nicely decorated.
Wonderful traditional spot with fresh food at fair prices. Stuck with the specials and you'll be happy.
Best place in the Marina for real quality sushi.
Meh sushi and you still pay a pretty high price. If I am going to be spending the money anyway, I would rather have better sushi and would go to Ace Wasabi which is not to far away.
Some of the best sushi I’ve ever had. Try the red devil roll, it’s amazing
Best sushi we ever had. Michelle, the owner, is the kindest Japanese lady you will find in SF.
I agree with Ian H: great sushi without the obnoxious scene. The restaurant is set back from Lombard Street, behind a little stone garden and, while not ornately decorated, is quiet and clean. Service can be a little leisurely (usually because Michelle, an owner, is the only one serving tables) but the food is great. The fish is quite fresh: sashimi pieces are smaller than you see at most restaurants but it's good stuff. I don't usually order rolls when eating sushi but Atami's rolls use interesting fish (say no to Alaskan Rolls of salmon and cream cheese!) and are presented nicely. Great sushi restaurant in a neighborhood of hits and (mostly) misses.
Great sushi options and quality. The staff is very friendly but the service is very slow.
I love it! Fresh, fresh, fresh! Quiet and flavorful. So far... every time, everything it's been delicious!Just adding a couple pictures.I've been here probably 20+ times over the past 5 years and the quality is 10 out of 10 every single time.Perhaps they have some days when food takes longer to reach your table but that's because it's a little owners run restaurant. There aren't many places left where food is prepared and served by its owners. This place delivers quality every.single.time.
The best nigiri in SF! The chef really has an eye for picking out great fish. It’s a family run spot, and Michelle the waitress is the sweetest. I’ve been coming here forever and bring everyone that visits. Try the Blue Hawaii roll, Stripe Jack nigiri, and of course Sake nigiri that goes down like butter. For those saying it’s slow, it’s made to order, don’t rush perfection.
Let’s just say that we had a gooooood time and the food is amazing!
Great atmosphere, good food, great customer service. You really can't go wrong if you're in the neighborhood. Worth checking out.
